Math Class Assessment
We encounter blossoms in innovative teaching. From 29th October to 1st November, the Research Institute of Education in Anhui Province hosted the 2018 Young Math Teachers’ Excellent Lesson Demonstration Activity in Anhui Province which was successfully held in the east campus of Anqing Foreign Language School. Nearly 1,000 teachers from around Anhui Province gathered together in Anqing Foreign Language School to share the education feast.
To begin with, each of the contestants showed their special prowess on the three feet platform. Through several rounds of selection, a total of 70 contestants were selected, among whom 35 participated in the teaching design evaluation category and the other half attended the on-the-spot teaching assessment category. The on-site teaching evaluation was conducted simultaneously in the School Lecture Hall of the east campus, the joint classrooms of both the Junior High Department and the Primary Section. All the three venues adopted the same topic to proceed teaching display and appraisal. The candidates were divided into three groups according to the random draw, 12 in group A, 12 in group B and 11 in group C. More noticeably, two outstanding young teachers Wang Yue and Xu Fangjia from Anqing Foreign Language School attended the on-site teaching evaluation process. There were 18 classes from both the east and west campuses of Anqing Foreign Language School participating in the grand event. Our students’ high quality, favorable cooperation and wonderful performance won unanimous praise from everyone!
To be specific, this seminar concerning high quality class demonstration aimed to play close attention to communication and research, improve the quality of young math teachers, facilitate classroom instruction quality as well as promote the innovation of mathematics teaching in middle schools. By means of observing and emulating the model class, we could exchange experience in classroom teaching reforms, discuss how to boost the mathematics classroom teaching efficiency in middle schools and promote the development of young math teachers’ professional level.
In conclusion, there was an exquisite scenery in Anqing Foreign Language School’s golden autumn. The successful hosting of this competition was a rare opportunity for Anqing Foreign Language School to make progress towards a faster, stronger and higher goal. People from Anqing Foreign Language School carry a seed, seek a fertile land and keep pursuing poetry and distant places on the road of education.
